SURABAYA, MCE – The veil of secrecy surrounding the alleged corruption of East Java’s provincial grant funds has reached a fever pitch. On Thursday, February 12, 2026, all eyes will be on the Surabaya Corruption Court (Tipikor) as the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) prosecutors officially reschedule the testimony of Khofifah Indar Parawansa.
This delay follows the Governor’s absence from today’s hearing (Feb 5), cited as a result of a dense official schedule—ranging from meetings with the MPR RI to preparations for President Prabowo Subianto’s upcoming visit.
However, Khofifah’s presence is far from a mere formality. Her testimony is the "master key" required to dismantle the budgeting mechanisms for grants between 2019 and 2022, which are suspected of being used as a personal slush fund by various officials. Specifically, KPK prosecutor Dame Maria Silaban emphasized the need to clarify a bombshell revelation found in the investigation report (BAP) of suspect Kusnadi.
The Core Allegation: The former Chairman of the East Java Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) claimed that 30% of the Rp120 billion grant fund was funneled to several parties, including the Governor herself.
"Ms. Khofifah will explain the budgeting procedures, including clarifications regarding Mr. Kusnadi's statement," Dame told reporters firmly following the session.
While the Provincial Government’s Legal Bureau has confirmed the scheduling conflicts, the court’s patience is not infinite. The presiding judge has signaled that legal certainty must prevail.
If Khofifah fails to appear for the second summons next week, the trial will bypass her testimony entirely and proceed directly to the examination of the defendants. This move would effectively close the window for the Governor to provide a direct defense or clarification against the allegations shadowing her reputation.
"If she does not attend, per the judge's decision, we will proceed immediately to the examination of the defendants," Dame concluded.
As next Thursday approaches, the public is left wondering: will the witness chair finally be occupied, or will the mystery of the "30 percent flow" remain an unanswered ghost in the corridors of East Javanese power. (bp).
