SURABAYA, MCE – The Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the East Java Regional Police has officially named two suspects involved in the forced eviction and demolition of 80-year-old Elina Widjajanti’s home in Surabaya.
The Director of the Directorate, Senior Commissioner Widi Atmoko, revealed that the suspects were identified through a meticulous Scientific Crime Investigation (SCI) method.
“Following a case exposé conducted by our Directorate on Monday (29/12), we have officially moved forward with two primary suspects,” said Widi at the East Java Police Headquarters.
The Directorate identified the suspects as Samuel Ardi Kristanto (SAK) and Muhammad Yasin (MY).
- SAK acted as the coordinator who mobilized a group of people to the site. He is currently being detained at the Directorate’s headquarters for further interrogation.
- MY is accused of direct physical assault, specifically dragging the elderly victim out of her residence. He is currently a fugitive being pursued by the Directorate’s field team.
Under the authority of the Directorate, the suspects are charged under Article 170 of the Criminal Code (KUHP) regarding collective violence, carrying a maximum penalty of 5 years and 6 months in prison. The Directorate emphasized that the investigation remains open, with the possibility of naming additional suspects as more evidence is processed. (bp).
