JAKARTA, MCE – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has officially announced the successful dismantling of a corruption scheme within the taxation sector involving high-ranking officials in Jakarta. This decisive action resulted in the seizure of assets totaling a staggering Rp6.38 billion, reflecting the massive scale of illegal transactions in this case. Monday (1/12/2026).
KPK Spokesperson, Budi Prasetyo, revealed that the evidence was seized from five individuals closely involved in the alleged bribery circle: Agus Syaifudin (AGS), Askob Bahtiar (ASB), Dwi Budi (DWB), Edy Yulianto (EY), and Heru Tri Noviyanto (HRT).
The involvement of Heru Tri Noviyanto, who held the strategic position of Head of the Audit, Assessment, and Collection Section at the North Jakarta Tax Office (KPP Madya), has become the primary focus. The case, which falls under the Directorate General of Taxes of the Ministry of Finance, spans a lengthy period from 2021 to 2026.
During the search and seizure operations, investigators discovered various forms of wealth suspected to have originated from bribery funds:
- Cash: Rp793 million in IDR denominations.
- Foreign Currency: 165,000 Singapore Dollars (equivalent to approximately Rp2.16 billion).
- Precious Metals: 1.3 kilograms of gold, with an estimated value of Rp3.42 billion.
These findings reinforce evidence of unnatural wealth accumulation by the officials involved.
The KPK’s efforts extend beyond physical assets. The investigative team is currently moving swiftly to secure Electronic Evidence (BBE). These devices will be extracted to analyze digital data, aiming to uncover broader networks and map out the complex modi operandi used to manipulate tax audits.
